Empowering Your Educational Journey with Mrs. Sepulveda!

About Me!

Fabiola Sepulveda, also known as Mrs. S to her students, is a 4th/5th-grade math and science teacher at McKinley Elementary School in North Bergen, New Jersey. Mrs. Sepulveda has been teaching at the North Bergen school district since 2019; not only that but Mrs. Sepulveda is also an alumnus of the North Bergen school district, in which she attended Horace Mann Elementary and the town High School. Additionally, your teacher is detail-oriented, with experience researching historical, archaeological, and anthropological topics at the university. Therefore, she takes learning seriously and believes in the famous saying, “Work hard, play hard!” This is because school is work, but that does not mean it has to be boring. Learning begins with curiosity and that is sparked by interest. Therefore, learning must be interesting!

Professional Learning Goals for Effective Use of Technology in Math and Science

Short Term Goals

  1. Integrate Digital Tools for Data Analysis
I will begin the first steps/introduction to implementing digital tools such as spreadsheets and data visualization software in at least three math or science lessons to enhance student engagement and understanding of data interpretation.

  2. Engage in Online Professional Development
Within the next few months, I will complete two online courses focused on integrating technology in mathematics and science instruction, such as using simulation software or coding tools, to enrich my teaching methods.

Medium Term Goals

  1. Develop a Technology-Enhanced Curriculum Unit
Within the next couple of years, I will create and implement a comprehensive curriculum unit that incorporates technology (e.g., interactive simulations, online assessments) in math and science, measuring its impact on student learning outcomes over time.

  2. Collaborate with Colleagues on Technology Integration
I will also facilitate a professional learning community with co-workers to share resources and strategies for effective technology integration in math and science classes. I aim to foster a collaborative environment focused on improving instructional practices.

Long Term Goals

  1. Establish a Technology-Driven Learning Environment
Within the next few years, I aim to aid my district in developing a technology-driven learning environment that supports innovative teaching practices in math and science.
